If you're looking to increase or decrease the travel of your 2021 or newer Fox Float 36 fork, simply snag one of these air shafts in the travel which you'd like to set your fork to, and swap it into your fork! The new 2021+ Air Shaft boasts a larger negative air volume chamber compared to the previous generation.
*NOT backwards compatible with older model years.

The 2021+ Fox Float 36 NA2 Air Shaft Assembly fits all model-year 2021 and newer Fox 36 forks in Factory Series, Performance Series Elite, or Performance Series.
This air shaft is NOT backwards compatible with model-years previous to 2021. This is not an upgrade for previous forks, and it only fits in 2021 and newer models.
The 2021+ Fox Float 36 NA2 Air Shaft Assembly includes a new air shaft, a new foot nut, a new crush washer, and all accompanying seals pre-installed. The air shaft is available in multiple travel options for you to choose from.
Below is the installation procedure we follow in our shop:
You do not need to pay any attention to your damper if you are decreasing your fork's travel, because the damper will just compress to accomodate for the reduced travel. Yes, you can even decrease your 180mm fork all the way down to 130mm and your damper will simply compress to the new travel without any negative effects.
However, if you are increasing the travel of your fork, then you need to check to ensure that you are not going above the maximum travel of your specific damper. Below is a list of the common dampers to the 2021+ Fox 36 chassis, along with their maximum travel according to the fork's wheel size:
