Senior Mechanic

The Lost Co. is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Senior Mechanic to help us maintain the highest quality mountain bike service around.
We’re a family-owned shop based in beautiful Bellingham, WA, built by riders for riders. Our mission is to enhance every mountain biker’s experience through thoughtful recommendations, precise service, and dialed setups. Our open service area allows for direct interaction between mechanics and customers, ensuring every rider leaves confident in their bike.
This role is for a mechanic who takes pride in their work, moves efficiently, and wants to be a strong technical presence in the shop.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Greeting customers and diagnosing service needs
- Writing accurate service estimates and clearly communicating the recommended work
- Performing advanced diagnostics and complex repairs across a wide range of modern MTBs
- Completing full builds to a meticulous, professional standard
- Servicing and installing modern MTB drivetrains, brakes, and suspension systems
- Managing your workflow to meet turnaround expectations
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional service area
- Protecting the quality and reputation of every bike that leaves the stand
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of professional shop experience
- 3+ years of suspension service experience across multiple major manufacturers preferred
- Deep familiarity with modern MTB/eMTB components and systems
- Confident brake bleeding, wheel truing, drivetrain setup, and troubleshooting
- Excellent diagnostic and service writing skills
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Professional, approachable communication with customers and teammates
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A rider who understands performance and cares about our customers’ experience
Compensation & Benefits
- $23–$30 per hour, depending on experience and technical depth
- Performance-based wage growth opportunities

Sales & Rider Experience Specialist

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Be the Face of The Lost Co.: You’ll set the tone for every customer that walks in our door, ensuring that every rider - from local pros to visiting shredders - receives expert, welcoming, and high-energy service.
- Manage the Demo Fleet: Our demo bikes will be one of our best sales tools. You’ll be responsible for keeping the fleet pristine, setting them up perfectly for each rider, and managing the check-in and checkout process.
- Guide the Customer Journey: Whether it’s a quick repair drop-off or helping a customer navigate a high-end bike purchase, you’ll provide the consultative, expert-level advice that sets us apart.
- Bridge the Gap: You’ll act as the crucial link between our service department and our customers, keeping communication clear, setting expectations, and ensuring repairs get done right.
- Elevate the Showroom: You’ll maintain an organized, inviting, and professional shop floor that reflects the quality of the gear we sell.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Experience: 2+ years of bike shop experience where you’ve mastered the art of talking to customers about complex setups.
- Deep Tech Knowledge: You can speak the language of mountain bikes- suspension, components, geo, and compatibility are second nature to you.
- Confidence & Energy: You’re not just friendly; you’re proactive. You can handle a busy sales floor with poise and enthusiasm.
- Professionalism: You understand that "customer service" means following through, communicating clearly, and treating every bike as if it were your own.
Compensation & Benefits
- $21–$28/hr (depending on your experience and what you bring to the team).
- Impact: This is a key role in our company’s growth. High performers will have a seat at the table as we continue to scale.
