Durability and function was the name of the game for this build. The Build This week we're taking a look at my personal Transition Patrol build. This bike started its life as a stock GX build but slowly morphed into what lies before you- an almost totally ground up custom build. Suspension on my Patrol is handled by RockShox in the form of a 170mm Zeb out front and a MegNeg'd Super Deluxe Ultimate out back. This combo has unleashed the bikes poppy and playful nature while keeping things headache free. To get this thing rolling I've got an old set of i9 Enduro 305's that were purchased off a Revel demo bike and given a second life. Rubber is always changing but recently I've been digging a DHF/Dissector combo for the sloppy fall dirt. Aside from the fork, my favorite part on this bike is the TRP brakes. They have been my absolute favorite brakes to date and are the perfect happy medium between Sram and Shimano as far as feel goes. Oh and the 2.3mm rotors? There might just be something to them. 0 glazing, and 0 warping after almost 5 months of heavy usage! The RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate has been a dream. The MegNeg is a match made in heaven for the Transition bikes. The TRP DH-R Evo brakes have proven to be as reliable as they come. I crash. A lot. These things just don't break. Custom GroundKeeper fender to keep things flashy. This bike is dialed, totally solid, and super reliable- just like a bike should be!
