Our Favorite MTB Products of 2024

WATCH the Video:

2024 was another amazing year for mountain biking, and that's not surprising at all! There were tons of new products launched that we've had the great pleasure to get dirty and play with in the woods. If you've been following the MTB product launches this year, then you'll know that there have been a ton of products that hit the mainstream this year. Everything from complete redesigns and new ideas to a step forward in marginal gains, and they all come together to make for a fantastic year of new products.

But new products aren't the only things we've ridden, and there are tons of products that came out in the past that we were still stoked on in 2024! Just because the new products are shiny and fresh doesn't mean everything else goes in the dumpster, and I spent most of the year pedaling around on an 11 speed drivetrain that's over a decade old!

Let's check out our favorite products we rode in 2024, starting with a completely new tire design from Schwalbe. The Schwalbe Radial tires came out in 2024, with a completely redesigned casing that is different from every other tire on the market. That casing allows the Radial tires to find grip where other tires dissapear out from under you, and we can whole heartedly recommend Schwalbe's new Radial Tires to every rider out there looking for maximum grip in all scenarios. Schwalbe has tread patterns for every type of terrain, and are slowly converting all of their most popular tires to the Radial casing.

Fox came out with a few new products this year, with wireless dropper posts and electric shocks getting the most attention, but our favorite Fox product in 2024 was the GRIP X2 damper, specifically in the 2025 Fox 38. When paired with the Float X2, this suspension setup on our Specialized Levo was absolutely everything we were looking for. Compared to the GRIP 2 damper, the GRIP X2 offers much smoother damping, that is much happier to use its High Speed Compression circuits. While the GRIP 2 puts up a fight the faster you go, the GRIP X2 is happier the faster you go!

Finally, my personal favorite product was the carbon fiber Reserve HD|30 wheelset with the Industry Nine 1/1 hubs. I've spent tons of time riding all kinds of wheels in my time mountain biking, and I spent some time every single week tightening my spokes. That's just how it goes, no matter which wheels I'm using, but that hasn't been the case with the Reserve HD|30 wheelset. Even though there's only 28 spokes, none of them have needed tension, and the wheel has remained true throughout the extent of my riding. Carbon wheels sure are expensive, but they've proven to be worth it for me!

Thanks for a great year!
