This 2023 RockShox Charger 3 Damper assembly is commonly used to upgrade your RockShox ZEB, Lyrik or Pike to the top-tier Charger 3 damper.
This damper only fits MY23 and newer Pike and Lyrik fork, but will fit in the MY21 and newer ZEB. This damper is NOT backwards compatible with any Pike or Lyrik with a model year previous to 2023.

As of now, the answer to this question lies within a gray area. According to our findings, yes it will fit. However, some folks at SRAM/RockShox claim it will not fit for some potential fitment issues related to the damper threads. We have sold many Charger 3 ZEB Dampers to folks who are upgrading their Domain, and we've never heard of an issue. However, we just wanted to post the disclaimer that it is not condoned by RockShox due to some minute difference in thread length of the damper body which we've never actually seen be a real issue.
You do not need to pay any attention to your fork travel when upgrading your damper. The damper only has a maximum travel extension, but not necessarily a minmum travel compression. The damper will simply compress within the fork when below it's maximum rated extension.
Charger 3 Damper MAXIMUM Travel (DO NOT EXCEED):
Included is (1) Charger 3 damper with all of the adjustment knobs and seals for the compression and rebound circuits, a new foot nut and a new crush washer.
If your fork has under 50 hours of riding on it you can simply remove your current damper and install the new Charger 3 damper without dropping the lower legs. All you need for this procedure is a bottle of Maxima Dynamic Light for the damper-side lower leg to lubricate the damper. You will need a RockShox Suspension Top Cap Tool to install the Charger 3 damper, and also to uninstall the old Charger R/RC/RC2 damper (Rush damper requires 24mm chamferless topcap socket). We would also recommend using a syringe to easily insert the oil into the stanchion. If your fork has over 50 hours of riding on it we would recommend dropping the lower legs and performing a basic lower leg service. You might as well do this to avoid upgrading your fork with a more sensitive damper, only to be potentially held back in performance from sticky lowers that could benefit from a lowers service. For this procedure, you will need Maxima Dynamic Light for the lower legs, Slickoleum to lubricate seals, a syringe to easily insert the oil into the stanchion and a RockShox 8mm Crush Washer for the air spring. You will need a RockShox Suspension Top Cap Tool to install the Charger 3 damper, and to uninstall the old Charger R/RC/RC2 damper (Rush damper requires 24mm chamferless topcap socket). We would also recommend using a syringe to easily insert the oil into the stanchion. We also recommend using Maxima Suspension Clean to clean out the lower legs. If your fork has over 75 hours of riding on it we would recommend performing a lower leg service and installing new dust wipers since you are at the interval for dust wiper replacement. For this procedure, you will need Maxima Dynamic Light for the lower legs, Slickoleum to lubricate seals, a RockShox 38mm Dust Wiper Kit to get new dust wipers/foam rings/crush washers, a RockShox 38mm Seal Driver to correctly install the new dust wipers and a syringe to easily insert the oil into the lower legs. You will need a RockShox Suspension Top Cap Tool to install the Charger 3 damper, and also to uninstall the old Charger R/RC/RC2 damper (Rush damper requires 24mm chamferless topcap socket). We also recommend using Maxima Suspension Clean to clean out the lower legs.

If your fork has over 50 hours of riding on it please read the section above to learn about our service and installation notes as we do recommend dropping the lower legs to service the fork while you install your new Charger 3 damper.
