From the Dissector, Troy Brosnan wanted to create a “unicorn” tire – a center tread design that carried speed easily but with edge blocks worthy of world-class cornering speed. The Dissector center knobs are all heavily ramped to minimize drag, but retain sharp, flat edges along their backs to provide strong braking traction. Small sipes give the knobs additional flexion, increasing their surface area during braking and aiding the transition to the edge blocks when cornering. A distinct channel along either side of the center knobs – along with ample spacing between all lugs – helps to clear debris.

  • Recommended as a rear tire
  • Tubeless ready
  • Folding
  • EXO: additional densely woven, lightweight, flexible fabric added to casing for enhanced puncture protection
  • EXO+: EXO plus additional SilkShield layer to increase puncture protection, sidewall durability and resistance to pinch flats

  • WT: Wide trail casing is optimized for 30-35mm inner width rims
  • DH: 2-ply DH casing with butyl-protected sidewalls
  • 3C MaxxTerra: intermediate triple compound, more traction than MaxxSpeed, better tread wear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip
  • 3C MaxxGrip: the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications

But to save you some reading time, use the Maxxis Assegai for maximum grip or the Maxxis Minion DHF for a combination of grip and fast rolling speed!

Don't forget new tubeless sealant to keep your tire inflated, and an insert to keep from pinch flatting on rocky trails!
